Our Partnerships

To help promote digital learning and access to information among K-12 & university students, as well as the general public, the CDH strives to form partnerships with a variety of Southern Miss centers and programs, in addition to regional and national institutions—including colleges & universities, government institutions, and more.

Partners at Southern Miss

The Dale Center and the CDH have partnered on several DH projects that advance their respective missions, including The 103rd Infantry Division Digital Humanities Project.

The Center for Oral History & Cultural Heritage and the CDH have partnered on several grant applications, primarily working to enhance accessibility to the COHCH’s rich collections.

The Center for Black Studies and the CDH partner with the goal of helping students in using digital tools to explore the history of race in Mississippi and the U.S.

Regional Partners

The Mississippi Digital Library and CDH regularly collaborate on the digitization of materials from repositories located across the state of Mississippi.

A close partnership between the CDH and MDAH has created a variety of projects, including “Digital Snapshots.” This series of exhibits aim to help non-experts understand and more successfully access MDAH’s valuable digital collections.

Partners at Colleges & Universities

The CDH works with faculty and students from across the state to strengthen our mutual interests in digital humanities for research and classroom purposes. We are dedicated to working with our university colleagues to help undergraduate and graduate students take advantage of several CDH-based projects, including paid research opportunities, such as the Civil War & Reconstruction Governors of Mississippi and Mapping Freedom: A National Science Foundation - Research Experience for Undergraduates (NSF-REU). Our partnerships in higher education include Jackson State University, Mississippi State University, Mississippi University for Women, and Tougaloo College.

Federal, State, & Private Funding

The CDH is also grateful for the support from federal, state, and private funding agencies that make much of our work possible. The Center’s projects have raised over $1 million to advance research, train our students for a competitive marketplace, and help the public engage with and learn from academic scholarship.
