ENG 371 American Literature – The Center for Digital Humanities

For their final projects in Dr. Christopher Spaide’s ENG 371: American Literature II: 1865 to the Present, students researched topics related to modern American literature and created engaging narratives on authors, genres, and themes on and off the syllabus. Through close reading, historical analysis, and creative storytelling, students examined how literary works both reflected and shaped modern America.

Over the course of the term, students collaborated with Dr. Jen Andrella and the Center for Digital Humanities to develop their projects using ArcGIS StoryMaps. Their projects use immersive storytelling techniques that blend text, media, maps, and interactive features to invite audiences to explore the meaning of these transformations.
